87 days till Christmas...

And don't we know it!! Christmas began with a vengeance at ACMC this week with many of our members leaving with glittery noses, clotheses and toeses and - James Bond watch out - even a few Goldfingers!! The Flitter Glu table was definitely the messy table this month. Click here for a step by step guide on how to use Flitter Glu with your rubber stamps. Less messy, but just as blingy were the trees and wreaths etc, created using all manner of sequins, gems and other shiny stuff all carefully coordinated to create some really impressive designs.

Michelle and I had a difficult job choosing the winner of the GB/Union Jack Challenge this month. We finally narrowed it down to 3 (Kay, Linda and Mandy) and then, after much deliberation chose, Kay P's card as the winner. We liked the use of several techniques in the card including doodles on the wheelchair, clever use of materials chosen for the basket and the globe doubling as the basketball. Well done to all who took part and to Kay who wins free entry into next month's workshop. Don't forget our new challenge (decided after reminiscing about toilet roll tube decorations!) which is to make a Christmas decoration out of a household object!! - due in on November 14th.

Too whit too woo!!

Hope you have all recovered from various Jubilee celebrations at the weekend. The fun continues here in Ashtead with Village Day on Saturday - let's hope we will be lucky with the weather. Just a quick (mainly photos) update this time and a sneak preview of some of the items made at Card Club on Wednesday, ready for sale on the stall on Saturday.  Lots of people enjoyed making the owl gift boxes, some even made little owl families!

Several people made red, white and blue themed cards and enjoyed colouring in our newly purchased Little Claire's stamps. Hopefully we will see some of these for sale on Saturday.

Our toffee filled gift bags will be on sale too, as well as kits to make more personalised ones. (Click on the links for tutorials on how to make the torn paper roses and the triangular gift bags below) 

Well done to everyone who entered our white on white card challenge and especially well done to Brenda, our winner, who receives free entry into one of our workshops. Highly commended cards were by Mandy and Kay.

Next month's challenge is to create a background for a card which you will then swap in a lucky dip. Another club member will complete your card and you will complete someone else's. Winners will receive half price entry into a workshop as the prize will be shared by both people contributing to the card.
