Wood, wood, glorious wood

This month we will be focusing on techniques with wooden items including simple wood burning projects, stamping on wooden items to create a faux wood burned effect, using wax paper to transfer text/images to wood blocks and creating backgrounds using a woodgrain embossing folder.

We will be working mainly with items like keyrings, wood slices, lolly sticks, wooden hearts, Jenga blocks etc. You may bring your own wooden items, but please ensure they are not coated or coloured with anything and that the wood is relatively soft if you intend to try wood burning.

Don't forget your game piece Challenge entries are due in this month too.

Fun and Games

Here are a few pictures of our creations from the "Game Piece Crafts" August workshop. We used jigsaws, dominoes, playing cards, dice, counters, scrabble tiles to name but a few.

No getting away from it!

The works! (literally - as Play Days is Rachael's work)

Some of you got busy making your own games too. The Tic Tac Toe boards were popular. Here's one example:

And Michelle's son Daniel made his own game too...

Fun and games for all ages!
