At our last busy workshop for 2015 we announced the winner and runner up for our "Card for All Seasons" competition. We consulted a panel of judges, representing different age groups, for their opinions and comments on the cards and boxes. All our entrants were given positive feedback for their entries as the standard was very high. Several of the judges commented that they were "blown away" by the quality of the boxed cards and the amount of work that had gone into creating the whole package.
Kay was our overall winner with her Bee themed box. She received comments such as "Great attention to detail and a good finish to all cards", "Excellent presentation, great theme. I particularly like the black and white card with the glitter" and "I like playing Hunt the Bee!"
And Katharine was our Runner Up this year. Her box was a "By the Sea" theme. Judges commented that her collection was "A good mixture of funny and serious cards", and that she "Shows a good eye for colour" and has a "Very high quality finish on all the cards"
Well done to you both and indeed to all of the entrants for the hard work you put in.
We also present our annual awards at our final workshop. This year we chose a 007 theme to coincide with the new James Bond film - Spectre.
As this is the latest release and relative newcomer to the James Bond family, our first "Spectre" award was presented to our Best Newcomer for 2015 - Julie.
Rachael, Jackie and Brenda were presented with the "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" award for Loyalty and Attendance at most, if not all of our workshops this year.
Karen and Penny received "The World is Not Enough" Active Support award for their help and support at Village Day and for refreshments and helping to pack up after workshops.
Rachael and Katharine were awarded this year's Patience and Perseverance "Never Say Never Again" award, not for their efforts at crafting this time, but for their selling technique at Village Day
Sue was presented with the "Diamonds Are Forever" Crafting Personality award as she enjoys her crafting and has been very supportive throughout the year in various ways.
Sally was presented with the "Goldeneye" trophy for High Quality work this year, showing a good eye for detail.
And Katharine was presented with the "Goldfinger" award for being this year's "Most Creative" member.
Well done to all. Look forward to seeing those of you who are coming to the Christmas meal on the 9th. Just to confirm it is 8pm at the Brewery.
Merry Christmas!
