The View from the Shard - a huge thank you to you all!!

So this really is our last blog post for ACMC. Michelle and I just want to say a massive THANK YOU to you all for our day out vouchers. We finally managed to arrange it for last Friday and had a fab time! We thoroughly enjoyed our trip up The Shard (as you can see below!) and we had a gorgeous meal at The Latium Restaurant.

Decided to take the non-conventional route to the top!

Just kidding - we got the lift. Not many other people around at this time.

The lift goes so fast it makes your ears pop!

Loo with a view!

Tower Bridge

Michelle said the windows needed cleaning -
and as if by magic a window cleaner appeared...

...and obliged us by joining in with a selfie!

The view was further improved with a glass of pink bubbly!

London Eye cocktail umbrella!

Yep - definitely better through pink bubbles!

Michelle got the selfie stick out - don't look down!!

She's a bit of a novice!

Bit blurry, but getting there.

That's better.

And the obligatory selfie pout pose!

Shopping for craft project ideas - crocheted Big Ben anyone?

That's more like it...

Instructions here if you can read them!

Couldn't resist having a go!

And then on to Latium restaurant - both had the fishcake to start

Hake for main course for Claire

And duck for Michelle

We both had tiramisu with mocha froth for dessert.

And finally we were served with truffles and biscotti

All in all a fantastic day out. Thank you so much for your generosity with our gifts and thank you for your support over the last ten years. It will seem odd this year not to have a stall at Village Day, but we are enjoying the WIng craft sessions and it's good to still see some of you there. Will hopefully bump into more of you at various craft fairs at some stage.

Happy crafting to you all
Claire and Michelle xx

Happy New Year!

Hope you have all had a wonderful festive break and that Santa brought you lots of crafting goodies for Christmas! Thank you all again for our poinsettias and Debenhams vouchers - looking forward to spending them!!

Just a quick update on the Christmas raffle from our November workshop - we raised £63, so a big thank you to you all for your donations and for buying tickets. Three charities were suggested, so the money will be split equally between Epilepsy Action, Breast Cancer and Help for Heroes.

Don't forget that New Year also brings a New Venue for ACMC. We are moving down the road to St Michael's Church.

Click here for a map of the location of St Michael's Church.

It has its own free car park. Entry into the hall is through the double doors off the car park. Workshops will now start at 8pm and finish at 10pm, as the hall is used by another group before us - karate apparently so watch out for those black belts!! Most memberships come up for renewal in January and the good news is the price will stay the same (£15 membership then £4 for each workshop, or £5 for each workshop for non members)

Please note that new dates have been added for 2011, both for Ashtead and for Tadworth. If you haven't already filled in a questionnaire, you should have received one by email. We are planning themed workshops this year incorporating different craft techniques into each workshop, so please bring your completed questionnaire to the next workshop (Wed Jan 26th) if you haven't already completed one. We have started to draft a provisional schedule based on feedback from questionnaires so far - more details on the first workshop of the year will be given in the next blog post...

And finally...in case you hadn't spotted the other changes to the blog, we have a new slideshow and a link to Louise's fantastic stamp catalogue. Well done Louise - we should be able to start to make good use of that this year.

Here's to a productive 2011 for ACMC!!
