Powders and Pastels

In our July workshop we will be experimenting with Pan Pastels and Mica powders. Kay B and Kay P will be our guest demonstrators this month. Kay B will be showing you how to create backgrounds by blending Pan Pastels. She will be exploring using different textures of card, using the pastels over Versamark ink and removing colour using an eraser.

Kay P will also be using Versamark Ink but with Mica powders. She will be demonstrating the "Split Negative Mica technique". You can see below that the same Versamark stamped image is used with mica powders to create both "negative" and "positive" sections i.e. the powder sticks to the stamped image in some sections but not in others. Intrigued? All will be made clear on the night!!

Don't forget to bring your ink blot challenge pages this month. We will be operating a voting system on the night again to see who gets the next workshop free.

See you all on Wednesday.

Introducing...

...our first ever Step by Step guide!! Thanks to Kay for taking the photos during my demo last night and then compiling the Step by Step guide to Stampbord. So now if you need a recap or if you were sitting on the other demo table, or if you missed the workshop you can click on the link above to see how we did the Stampbord!

This is our first one and was a bit of an experiment, so apologies that we do not have similar for Michelle's demo, but we are aiming to feature one demo per month as a Step by Step guide initially. Please let us know what you think.

Kay also took lots of piccies of the finished Stampbord tiles. You are a creative lot aren't you!

And here is what was going on over on Michelle's table. Very impressive too!

An extra day for crafting!

Make the most of the Leap Day tomorrow and come and spend it crafting with us! All back to normal on the demo front after last month's speedcrafting. (but that doesn't mean to say we won't spring another one on you at some point - you know you all enjoyed it really!) Tomorrow night we will be revisiting the distress ink and fairy silhouette stamping technique that proved to be very popular last year.

And continuing the stamping theme, but with a new focus, we will also be looking at the uses of Stampbord tiles for cardmaking, keyrings etc. (see Stampbord website)

Thank you to everyone who attended the AGM. We discussed lots of things and will be incorporating some changes and new ideas as a result. Click here to see a summary of what we discussed. We will update you on anything else tomorrow night.
